The order of wedges in cuneiform signs: some preliminary experiments

The following indentations were made in a flattened lump of clay with a reasonable replica of the stylus used by cuneiform scribes.

All of them are a simple cross form, one wedge on top of another. The enquiring reader is asked to look carefully at each image, and try to decide which was made first, the vertical or the horizontal?
